Debbie, our production manager, awoke to find a mysterious flock of plastic flamingos filling her front yard a few mornings ago.

Mysterious Flock of Flamingos

Flamingo Family
While she loves and collects “all things flamingo,” she was baffled by the sudden appearance of the sea of pink in front of her house. And then she thought perhaps the flock had stopped by to visit “relatives” because they saw the flamingo flag hanging off the porch. But a note in the front door explained that she’d been “flocked” – a great fund raising tool used by the Daughters of the Nile, an international non-profit organization who raise & contribute money to the Shriners Hospitals for Children. For a small donation, the group will secretly “flock” the home of one of your friends, leave their calling card and then come back just as secretly and move the flock to a new “nest!”
It turned out that her friend Martha made the donation knowing that Debbie would be delighted by the appearance of her favorite birds in her yard. We thought it added great color to the neighborhood!

Flamingos Everywhere
To let migrating flocks of flamingos know that your house is “flamingo friendly” you might want to add a decorative piece from our collection which includes flamingo applique flags, flamingo MailWraps, flamingo MatMates, an entire flamingo Collection from MagnetWorks, and even flamingo flags on sale!
Happy Summer!
