And we couldn’t do it without our great staff! Debbie Kogut, our Production Manager, who you’ve heard about before, has worked with me at Flag Fables since 1990. No matter how many pallets of new products show up, Debbie always finds a way to get everything organized – even when we have two weeks to set up what amounts to another complete store for the seventeen days of The Big E.

My family also becomes part of the fun both for the Big E and the Fall/Holiday season! My husband, Jeff, provides general all around support, our two daughters who live too far away to be physically present are great “cheerleaders,” and our daughter, Paige, who lives nearby, practically grew up in the store, so jumping right in is second nature for her. Here’s our inside booth, which she helped to design, and that’s her in black behind the counter. (And, yes, she will kill me for posting a picture of her here!! But it’s just a tiny picture, Paige!)

Customers Visit the Flag Fables Outdoor Booth at Big E 2007!

Booths are stocked and displays are up — we are ready to go!  Best of all, I am home and it is before midnight! 

We have worked extremely hard to provide our customers with the best selection in all areas, however it is impossible to bring everything!  If you are looking for a specific flag, mailbox cover, yard design or any of our other wonderful home products please call ahead to be sure we have it in stock! 

As I walked around the fair grounds today, I was thinking about all the other fun things to do at the Big E, here is what I came up with:

- Visit the State Buildings — and be sure to go hungry!

- Check out some of the concerts! This year they include performances from Jordan Sparks (free), Natasha Bedingfield, Leanne Rimes, Fergie, Sugarland and many many more!

- Visit Farm-a-rama to see the piglets, the clydesdales and the hatching eggs

- Take a ride on the midway — you can even watch a couple get married there!

And so much more!  Come by and let us know what your favorite part was!

The doors open on Friday!

Well, according to The Big E website, the biggest event of the year (for some) begins in 2 days, 6 hours, 51 minutes.  WOW!  I can’t believe it has already been a full year!  We have been prepping for weeks now, but I always took solice in the fact that the show didn’t start until Sept. 12 — PLENTY OF TIME!   Newsflash…it is SEPTEMBER 10!  It is now crunch time…

Thanks to MANY helping hands, I think we are in better shape than years past…although I will confirm that for you on Thursday night when I get home!  

For the second year, Flag Fables will be having two booths — one diagonal to the Giant Slide outside door 6 of the Better Living Center (across from the Bears), and the other inside the Better Living Center at pole #65 (between doors 5 and 6). 

Both booths will have many decorative standard house flags, mini garden flags, magnetic mailbox covers and Yard DeSigns from which to choose! 

Like last year, our booth inside the Better Living Center will feature the popular MagnetWorks collections new for 2008.  Included in this is Bernadette Deming’s beautiful fall Pumpkin and Stars design (see below).  Not only is this design new, beautiful and incredibly popular, but the Pumpkin & Stars Collection includes the new Addressables MailWrap that allows you to easily and clearly display your house number for all to see!
